Suzanne Cox-Hudson is an award-winning interior redesigner and the founder of What a Lovely Home.

As a decorator, Suzanne has worked to beautify homes all over Northeast Ohio. Suzanne’s creative passion is making homes beautiful, comfortable, and functional for the people who live in them.

Suzanne is active locally as a sought-after speaker for community organizations, women’s groups, and businesses.
 

Suzanne also offers numerous decorating classes and is known for her ability to communicate complicated design techniques in an accessible and entertaining style. At the national level, Suzanne is an active member of IRIS (the Interior Redesign Industry Specialists) and ODDAA (the One-Day Decorating Alumni Association). In 2005, she took top honors in two of seven categories of the ODDAA Redesign Challenge.

"I am genuinely blessed to be following my passions and using my skills and creativity in my career. I feel privileged everyday to make people enjoy their homes more. I love working with homeowners and seeing their excitement and pride in how wonderful their homes look after a redesign or redecorating project. Sometimes it is as you see it on TV -- some people really do get misty-eyed! The most gratifying thing about my job is helping people create the home they have longed for or to transform a neglected or ordinary space into a truly special one. It brightens my day when a beaming client says of their room, 'I never would have thought of that' or 'I can't believe this is my room!"

Suzanne is the founder and moderator of the IRIS Redesigner’s Marketing Forum where she provides a monthly online column. She also presents on design, business, and marketing topics at national conferences in the design industry. She also shares her passion for her work and for empowering women by mentoring and coaching other decorators, professional organizers, and redesigners as they begin their businesses.


Suzanne trained to become a certified redesign specialist with industry leader JoAnne Lenart-Weary of Pennsylvania. Suzanne also holds B.A., M.A., and Ed.S. degrees in counseling and psychology. She says the "people skills" she gained from her experience in that field are invaluable. "I am fascinated by the 'psychology' of making a home feel wonderful and function well. Also, I think my experiences make me an especially sensitive listener, skilled communicator, and motivating coach."
